visual kei

We all love music. But we have different taste on choosing the right genre of music that will suit your personality. Well I want to introduce you a different kind of genre in the music industry that hits a lot of people who likes fashion and music, it is called Visual Kei.

Visual Kei refers to a movement among Japanese rock (jrock) musicians and is characterized by the use of colorful and elegant costumes, make-up and hairstyles. Visual Kei has influenced Harajuku style fashion. The "kei" in Visual Kei is japanese for style of type, meaning "visual style music" The music ranges from eighties goth rock, to heavy metal to punk .The term visual kei was created with one of X Japan's slogans "Psychedelic violence crime of visual shock ."You could find Visual Kei cosplayers (dressed as their favorite musicians) and those in the subculture known as Gothic Lolita based on Lolita fashion. Often fans of such bands also will dress up for concerts, meet ups, and other events where they will see other people who enjoy Visual Kei.

If you like watching anime well you probably heard of some visual kei bands from the opening or closing of the anime you’re watching. Visual kei is really eye catching because of their colorful costume, make-up and hairstyles. There is a band called girugamesh who caught my eye and the reason why I started to listen to visual kei. I was browsing some band pictures and suddenly I noticed this band that has a cool make up and crazy hairstyle. So I search some info about this band then I tried to listen on some of their song. When I was listening to one of their song called “owari to mirai” I was like “wow! This band knows how to rock. ” Even I can’t understand the lyrics I’m loving the beat. Then I tried to search more about them and other bands. Then I saw some has a very beautiful and colorful costumes, make-up and hairstyles. This makes me wants to search more info about it, like what kind of style is it then I found out it’s like harajuku fashion and Lolita fashion.

Some members of the visual kei bands look like a real girl but they are not. They are a cross dresser. Because of their cool style a lot of people who likes visual kei or cosplay want to do this style on themselves as well. Some are teasing and dyeing their hair, making or buying costumes and watching tutorials or studying how to put some make-up on their face. And this is so much fun for those who like visual kei. They’re not just enjoying what they hear but also on what they see .
